never been KO but been KD in the ring and out in street fights, kinda hard not to get KD if you're in enough fights.

Once with a shot right on the liver, which basically made me give up boxing, because I was drinking too much, partying too hard and not training enough, and it was that which made me realise it. Still the most painful punch I've ever taken by far. I was in agony for ages, and I swear its still tender today from it all these years later. So, while I've never been knocked out, the body shot dropped me and I would've been stopped if it was in an official match.
The only other time, I got caught with a wild right that busted my nose across my face. That one didn't hurt at all though, and i didn't even realise it until our coach stopped us and said I was wobbling about and there was blood pissing out everywhere.
The body shot though, I'll never forget it. It still makes me wince. If I wasn't in the gym, I would've been crying like a little *****.

I've taken far too many wicked, flush shots and never went out so I suppose I'm resistant but the main concern should be health, not pride. I really regret some of the damage I've taken and hope it doesn't catch up with me some day.

i've been down twice in sparring. it happens when you spar better / more experienced fighters. the idea is to get better.
i got up and finished the round. i really wasn't close to out, but was definitely getting touched up good by guys who knew how to put punches together.
the hardest i've ever been hit was playing hockey. the worst i've been "hurt" wasn't even a hard hit. i was exhausted, and took a hit to the chest / head area. i lost a tiny bit of time while my head was flying back. maybe a quarter of a second. i did't even go down, but my legs weren't 100% until i got back to the bench and poured water over my head.
i played hockey for 15+ years. sometimes, i forget stuff that i shouldn't be forgetting. it's a bit troubling, considering that i'm not that old. i used to get headaches during hockey season. i really haven't had one since i stopped playing. i used to think it was normal for a 16 year old to wake up in the morning with a headache.
