Comments Thread For: Melendez's Manager Eyes Top Ten Foe if Foreman Walks

Edwin Diaz, the manager for junior middleweight Jorge 'Destroyer' Melendez (28-3-1, 26 KO's), who is scheduled to return to action on June 7 against former WBA champion Yuri Foreman (32-2, 9 KO's), believes Foreman recently announced his retirement as a calculated tactic to improve his purse. Foreman is fighting with his manager and publicly complained about their contract, which led to an unexpected retirement announcement. The fight is scheduled to be part of the Miguel Cotto-Sergio Martinez HBO Pay-Per-View undercard at New York's Madison Square Garden.

I saw your Meledez go life and death against a 12 loss fighter, a blown up lightweight , Richard Gutierez, in San Juan Puerto Rico. You are right, he might have a chance with El Perro, but I wouldn't bet any money on him.

Richar Gutierrez has always been a 147-154lb haha but yeah if Melendez struggle with Richar then he's got issues. Was this suppose to be the co-main event???? Terrible!!! Undercard is mierda

I was just fooling. Petuff keeps calling out Perro and Perro is still getting over that last KO loss. That's like calling out the guy who got beat by the guy that got beat by the other guy. This may be where Melendez belongs, but that isn't much. Lara, Canelo, and a boatload of talent at 154. El Perro has already been put to sleep.
