Comments Thread For: George Groves Officially Signs Deal With Sauerland Event

Team Sauerland are proud to announce the signing of George Groves (19-1, 15 KOs). confirming a story which first broke Monday afternoon on Boxingscene.com.

The 26 year-old super middleweight star has put pen to paper and signed a long term promotional contract with Europe’s leading boxing promoter ahead of his Wembley Stadium mega-fight with Carl Froch for the WBA and IBF World Super Middleweight Titles.

‘’I am extremely pleased to have signed with Team Sauerland,’’ said Groves. ‘’I have boxed on their shows in the past and have known Kalle and Nisse (Sauerland) for years. The shows they put on in Europe are phenomenal.

"This is definitely a step in the right direction for me as I look to build my name not only across Europe but all around the world. I feel that now I have the right team in place to help me achieve everything I need to in boxing.’’ [Click Here To Read More]

A little surprised but then not sure who else he could have gone with.

Glad he's got that side of his career sorted out now. Hope he can continue to get fights on the big stage after the Froch fight (regardless of the outcome).

Vindictive move by Groves. Im sure his plan now is to do a number on Froch, then p*ss off and leave Hearn, Froch and Degale hanging to go after Kessler or a unification with Abraham and make it difficult and pricey for Hearn to make fights with him. Slippery and underhanded business move right on the eve of fight week. If he beats Froch and it comes off for him well played, if not it probably won't turn out to be the best move.

Kalle has been negotiating with HBO too, adds towards some exciting potential match ups for Mikkel,Groves and Huck.pairing them against the likes of Golovkin and Ward.who cares about Top Rank and Golden Boy's feud.

Does anyone know why happens with the IBF mandatory should Groves beat Froch,I seem to be under the belief Groves does not have to face Gonzales DeGale winner as his next defence, but Froch does should he be victorious.

Can anyone shed any light on the situation for the victor ?

Good, and I didn't want him to go to GB or TR myself. I'd prefer some option like DiBella or Gary Shaw or anyone who has the capabilities of doing fights on both hemispheres
