Is the world ready for a Mellow Mike Tyson?

The high-pitched voice with the Brooklyn accent was familiar- but the words were not.
The former Baddest Man on the Planet didn’t threaten or even curse once during a conference call on Friday to hype his latest foray as a boxing promoter. He didn’t yell or say something off the wall.

There was no mention of anyone's ears.

No, it was a grown-up, buttoned down even reserved Tyson who appeared to discuss his role as president of Iron Mike Productions and his return to the Turning Stone Resort on June 6 for another ESPN 2 boxing show, his second in the past year at the upstate casino.

    Most Must See Boxer Ever

I will remember Tyson as the best ever when he was in his prime, knocking out all taller fighters like they were nothing. His speed and power were unmatched and his intimidation factor is stuff of legend, the only guy to ever beat Mike Tyson was Mike Tyson

I'm happy that Tyson is living a better life than he used to. That man has truly endured a lot.

Frankly, most of them were, well, not much more than taller.

Tyson inspired me to watch boxing as a kid so I owe him that but I do think he was overrated. If he fought in todays division I think Wladimir would toy with him like Lennox did unless he landed a lucky shot on the inside. Mike was explosive if his opponent let him get on the inside.
