    Boxing Gloves Colour

Why are most boxing gloves Red? Why do boxers fight with red gloves? Why not black? I've seen the Calzaghe v Mitchell fight (and what a fight by our boy, Joe) and they were wearing black gloves!

It looked much much better and nicer. Red is boring. Yellow gloves are worse.

So, in a match, can one fighter wear one colour gloves (preferable black) and the other another colour?

Gloves are red for the same reason spartans soldiers wore red coloured clothes. Its the colour of blood.

Fighters are using custom colors now and they have gloves that match the color of their trunks. Jones Vs. Tarver 2 shows this, Tarver has blue gloves that match his trunks while Jones has grey gloves that match his trunks.

Red boxing gloves became common mainly because they are highly visible to judges, referees, and audiences during fast paced matches. Over time, red and blue gloves were also used to help distinguish fighters more clearly in certain competitions. Black gloves definitely give a cleaner and more modern look, and many fans agree they can make fights appear more stylish on screen. In professional boxing, glove colors can vary depending on event rules, sponsors, and approval from officials, so different colored gloves are possible in some matches. For fans following boxing updates and gear trends, checking the latest version can also be interesting.
