Comments Thread For: ALA Promotions Obtains License To Promote in America

The famed ALA Promotions has achieved another milestone in its efforts to elevate Philippine boxing to a higher level, internationally.

The respected boxing patron Tony Aldeguer informed BoxingScene.com/Manila Standard that ALA Promotions has finally been granted a license to promote fights in the United States, making ot “the first in Asia to be given the privilege.”

Tony Aldeguer said his son, ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer had the pleasure of meeting with Andy Foster, Executive Officer of the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) and after their first meeting in November 2011 “was finally granted the license to promote.”

Very cool... sadly... most fights would be in Cali or something like that... Would be awesome if they brought some of that to where I am in VA... but we only got the tenth largest Pinoy population in the States.

I'm still trying to visit the gym in Cebu, but they won't let you in unless you know somebody... or they hate me.... probably both

Me too... a good step up. ALA fighters are usually pretty exciting. Even Nietes started to step things up and really impressed me with the Fuentes KO.

This also opens their opposition up too because before it was mainly Pacific/Asian fighters and Mexicans willing to travel
