I'm probably in the minority that believes that this would be a great/tough fight for either fighter even though Harris lost to Maussa. Harris is a tough fighter with one punch KO power,a stiff jab, & great footwork. Hatton would have his hands full if they fought. Hatton's win over Maussa was ok but let's not kid ourselves. Maussa doesn't have half of the skill/talent that Harris has & how much did Harris loss have to do with Maussa's talent or Harris not listening to his corner & trying to set up a KO instead of swinging for the fences with every punch.

I can't see Harris beating Hatton, but it could turn out to be a tough fight, but to be honest I cannot see that happening.

Well, I agree that Harris is not the ideal opponent for Hatton's US debut. I actually would not have chosen Harris if I was managing Hatton. Harris is seen as damaged goods right now by fans and the media, and I think the reports of his demise are greatly exaggerated, as they saying goes. Harris is a solid fighter who has beautiful punches and combos, and basically fought a horrible fight against Maussa.

Harris was on the big stage finally, and with a chip on his shoulder, went out to destroy Maussa- a guy that is made of rubber with a good chin- not easy to destroy. Harris ignored his corner, and just kept pumping out hard right hands like a madman, totally wearing himself out. Harris thought he knew better than his corner, a mistake many boxers make and live to regret. And Harris wasn't only fighting Maussa in the ring that night, he was fighting the media, fans, the networks, Hatton (bc of the earlier fight that fell through) and all the other guys who were supposedly "ducking him." He just overfought and had a huge chip on his shoulder. He is a very good fighter and if he can get his head together, he can still be a force at 140.

Remember most of you who currently hate on Hatton are the same guys who hated on Kostya (no explanation needed) and ALL OF YOU picked Harris to take over the division. Remember the discussions after Kostya-Mitchell2? "Oh Harris is going to kill Kostya- look how much bigger he is than him." ...because of Harris squeezing into Kostya's post-fight interview, most not realizing that he was in a suit and wearing dress shoes with small heels. And of course, there was also the old Hatton haters from before he beat Kostya, who claimed he ducked Harris, even though it was Harris who turned down the fight and more money than he had every made before in a fight.

Bottom line- if I were managing Hatton, I would have done everything possible to get Baldomir. Maybe they did and Baldomir just didn't want it and priced himself out like they said. But Harris is a dangerous choice of an opponent, and of course most nudhead fans only remember you by your last fight, but I really hope Hatton doesn't make that mistake and prepares for Harris as he would have on their original date, because Harris is still dangerous. And if he learned his lesson and can fight within himself and listen to his corner, then could be a very interesting fight. Harris throws really sharp, fast, straight punches, and Hatton cuts easily. I think Hatton should in the end be too strong for Harris, but losing a TKO from cuts is a very real possibility if Hatton doesn't come in 100% and respect Harris.

PS- PBF34, have to correct your sig. The quote from Tyson is so classic that it needs to be quoted correctly. Probably the best post-fight boasting I've ever heard: "Lennox is a conqueoror? No, I'm Alexander. He's no Alexander. I'm the best ever. There's never been anybody as ruthless. I'm Sonny Liston. I'm Jack Dempsey. There's no one like me. I'm from their cloth. There is no one who can match me. My style is impetuous. My defense is impregnable, and I'm just ferocious. I want your heart! I want to eat his children! Praise be to Allah!"
