    Iron Mike Tyson

Probably the most exciting heavyweight of them all. It was great in the 80's when he was champion. He was the last heavyweight to be ranked #1 p4p by ring magazine. Tyson is a true boxing historian too, he shows so much respect to the old timers. Great fighter.

That's a bit harsh. He was a great fighter. He's overrated by people that don't know boxing but underrated by people that think they know boxing. The guy could fight. I love watching his fights. To me he's a great fighter. It's fair to have your opinion but his career was not a joke, come on now.

I like that Tyson understands the sport and is a historian of boxing, something that can't be said about a lot of other fighters.

I recommend that people watch some of his fights from the mid 80's. I know that Tyson generally doesn't get much love from boxing fans but he was actually a talented young fighter, and even though it was a long time ago now, he brought a lot of excitement to boxing back then. I know people that started watching boxing just because of Tyson.

Agreed. The most exciting HW of all time in my opinion.Despite not reaching his full potential Tyson in his day would trouble and/or beat the majority of heavyweights in history including all the greats! It's crazy how ppl try to disrespect him when he achieved all he did despite his circumstances. The man's not perfect but who is?

I agree with all of that. I think in many ways we were watching not just a fighter, but his story. We got to see his life unfold and it was tragic but compelling viewing. It's great to see him doing good now. I respect him more than I ever have in his life after boxing, and I still consider him one of the all time great heavyweights.

That was a really well received comment on this topic that we are discussing.

Cus Amato in a video stated if Mike Tyson stays focused He will be the Greatest Heavyweight of all time I agreed with that statement , but after he died Mike became distracted , Robin Givens, Don King, No more Kevin Rooney which ended his slipping of punches , The phony **** that put him in Prison it was all down hill after that.
