I can safely say the rematch would beat that comfortably.

Like this random tidbit from a while back

Sure enough, the "vacation" is confirmed by Richard Scheafer later.
        You might be right.

I definitely think there's someone in GBP who doesn't like Schaefer, how else does GBP wind up in the Main Events lawsuit?

But because the writer is an incompetent journalist, he spins it and assumes that this is the case all across the board. When Espinoza clearly was only talking about the Canelo fight.

"The goal is always to set a new record, the record being 2.5 million (pay-per-views buys) with De La Hoya and Mayweather. ***8216;Canelo,' as much of a star as he is, doesn't have the awareness that Oscar did as the time of the Mayweather fight, but he has a lot of heat behind him. So, 1.5 (million), 2.5 (million), I'd be happy with any of those," Espinoza said in closing.

He makes amateurish mistakes in journalism by inappropriately rephrasing quotes to fit his agenda, and/or taking assumed information from elsewhere without fact-checking it.

I don't give a damn if your name is Pacquiao, or Mayweather, or what the fuck ever. To get 900,000 people to sit down and pay $70 to watch you, is amazing.
I'm gonna tell you the exact same thing as I told another Floyd fan.

"Funny you only say this now that Floyd's PPV sales have bombed. You weren't saying this when Manny's numbers bombed. I'm not neccessarily saying thay you care about the numbers but very convenient of you to talk about it now."
