How do you tell who's resume is better?

I was thinking that when it comes to boxing, fans always debate to no end on why they think a fighters resume is better. If we had a point system i think we could truly see who has the best resume by when they fought the opponent, even if the person turns out to be a bum, the fighter still has prove he fought that fighter when he was at the top.

I created a non-biased point system to determine who has the better resume. All catweight and asterisks for why fighters should not get credit for beating a certain fighter is not taken into consideration. Fighters will only are given Points if they beat a top 10 contender in a division. If a person is a linal champion its a automatic 50 points, a draw gets and loses the fighter no points.

This is how the Point system works-
    TOP 10 contenders point system
    1. 40pts 2. 35pts 3. 30pts 4. 25pts 5. 20pts 6. 15pts 7. 10pts 8. 8pts 9. 4pts 10. 2pts draw 0pts
    Losing to TOP 10 contenders
    1. -1pts 2. -2pts 3. -4pts 4. -5pts 5. -7 pts 6. -10pts 7. -12 pts 8. -15pts 9. -17pts 10. -20 pts

Anything lower then the top 10 -25pts

Here's a example using Manny Pacquio and some of his names in his resume.

    Rustico Torrecampo -25
    Chokchai Chockvivat +2
    Chatchai Sasakul +50
    Medgoen Singsurat -20
    Lehlohonolo Ledwaba +25
    Marco Antonio Barrera +50
    Erik Morales -2
    Erik Morales +10
    Oscar Larios +35
    Erik Morales +30
    Marco Antonio Barrera +30
    Juan Manuel Marquez +35
    Timothy Bradley+30

I like it a lot. I think though you need to distinguish between beltholder and truly recognized champions. Perhaps 55 for unified and 60 for consensus champions.

What I mean is there's a difference between the paper belt held by scott quigg and the consensus champ in the division rigondeoux.

Well ya, i agree. I only count the Lineal Champ the only Champ, so whoever beats Rigo Get the 50pts and Quigg is ranked #4 in ring magazine so whoever beats him gets 25pts.

Sounds good! I'm going to guess pacquiao, Hopkins, cotto or froch win this.

On your system beating Mayweather would get you the same points as beating Yaegashi.

I don't think you're going to gets one size fits all system but I think its results would still be worth a read.

Maybe, haven't gone in depth with it. I have really take time to see where every fighter in there resume was ranked at the time they fought them and if they lost them to give a accurate assessment.

I agree but i just made this Point system to help see who fights the best at there division and what time. So ya a fighter does get 50 points for beating Floyd or Yaegashi. If you wanna say P4P Floyd is better than ya i agree but the ranking is for divisions fighting the best fighters out there. Another example is Ortiz was #3 when Floyd fought him so Floyd gets 30pts added, now that Ortiz is a bum in most eyes people discredit Floyd but when he fought he wasnt and the system is the prove.

good system in all fairness, some tricky spots e.g. marquez jumping up 2 weight classes to fight mayweather. do you take his lightweight ranking even though he was at a weight disadvantage especially after the contract was breached?
