Funny how when fighters makes excuses everyone jumps on them for being sore losers, yet, when Collazo does this, somehow Khan is still at fault?

Ya'll were saying Khan was going to get Koed early, including idiots like Dwyer. Khan schooled Collazo. Made him look more ordinary than Berto or Hatton, whom Collazo probably both beat. Now Collazo's a bum, and he had an off night? Which is it? It can't be both.

Let me guess Khan is also got plaster in his gloves and is taking PEDs and poisoned Collazo's drink.

The Collazo that fought Mosley and got robbed by Hatton was not present for Khan. If you think that was the best Luis Collazo, you must be new to the sport.

Yeah none of Khan's best wins count, because the opponents didn't "show up". Judah and Collazo were "not themselves", and Maidana is "a completely different fighter now".

But the Peterson loss was perfectly legit, and anyone who mentions the drug cheating is only making poor excuses for Khan, right?

I think Khan's style and tactics is what mentally jarred Collazo. He just wasn't ready for the fast combos from outside and the holding inside. To his credit, Khan fought a very disciplined fight.

Luis certainly did not fight his best fight. He is not a Hall of Famer, but he is much better than most give him credit for. The take away from the Khan fight however is that it is way past time for refs to call Khan on his incessant holding. Modern day fighters are generally quite athletic and hit hard, most have good speed, but the ability to fight inside is lost on nearly all of them. Clinching and infighting is sadly a lost aspect. Everyone wants to dazzle and throw a blindingly fast punch, usually a single, and then hold, wait for a break by the ref, then repeat the same routine. That's not boxing. If a fighter is willing to fall inside then he needs to be prepared to do something more than force his opponet's head down and/or hold, which Khan is the current champion of. Unfortunately, it's not boxing.

He is. More emphasis on a strong authoritative jab.. Better tactics and ferocity in the clinch, more emphasis on defense and slipping punches... And of course, A more impressive physical specimen at 165 lbs. his chin seems to be better at147 as well. Come to think of it, I can't imagine Khan's holding and pushing down the head working too well on a 165 lb bull in the clinch Maidana. And he has also improved cutting off the ring. A Maidana-Khan rematch would illustrate all of this.
