I was asked what chance PAC has and I said he has a puncher's chance. If he hurts FMJ something can happen but I also said he's never going to be able to hit him to hurt him, so it's not going to happen. PAC only chance is if Floyd gets old and slips up but Floyd can still get away from him --Sugar Shane Mosley

'I don't want to fight anybody but him [Pacquiao],' . 'I don't want to fight [Miguel] Cotto, not Canelo [Saul Alvarez] and I ain't looking to fight [Juan Manuel] Marquez a second time.
'I'm not trying to fight [Robert] Guerrero. I fought a southpaw, I fought [Victor] Ortiz. Ortiz was a tune up preparing me for Pacquiao because I thought that fight was going to happen and it's the fight I want to give the world.
'I'm looking to fight Manny Pacquiao, why is he duckin' and dodgin' me?
'I mean, you say you're a clean athlete, I'm a clean athlete. Let's take the tests and let's fight.'
Mayweather insisted he is ready to fight on May 5 and is just waiting on Pacquiao agreeing terms.
'This fight is already sold,' he added. 'All he gotta do is sign on the dotted line.
PAC TURNED IT DOWN.

Fools just need to stick to the sweet science. No point disrespecting any of these two legends of the ring. OP was just referring to Cotto who was on the verge of dying with Manny & went the full 12 and did well against Floyd. I do remember Cotto saying immediately after the fight with PAC that "He's the greatest fighter I ever fought." He eluded nothing near that after fighting Floyd.

Manny is not your typical fighter that is either a Boxer or a Slugger, he is in a different mold all in all, he uses a different footwork that compliments his hand speed and throws at awkward angles but still gives meaningful punches... Manny's movement is not sloppy, it's different and awkward but it's actually deliverate and effective... Not long ago the great Ali was also being criticized for doing it all wrong inside the ring, moving in with his hands down, staying far too much against the rope and would almost always let his opponent punch it out on him in hopes of tiring them all out way before the championship rounds... And now Ali is considered as the G.O.A.T. by majority of boxing experts...
He's been a sloppy fighter for ages FFS. And its not the first time its been said, which is why he has had success. His anti-textbook approach is something you have to learn on defend against on the job. Security through obscurity. His awkwardness is what made him tough to study for.
That said, he lost the first time he ran into Morales and most of the other guys you mentioned were past prime or coming off losses. The Clottey, Mosely and first Bradley fight are nothing to call home over either.
