Comments Thread For: Team Alexander Hope 6/21 Card Sets Up Guerrero Bout

Two weeks ago BoxingScene.com first reported that a fight between former two division champion Devon Alexander and rugged veteran Jesus Soto Karass had been finalized and that it would take place on either June 21st in Carson, Calif. or on July 121th in Las Vegas.

This week Golden Boy Promotions officially announced that the fight would take place on June 21st at the Stubhub Center in Carson as part of a tripleheader that will be headlined by Robert Guerrero's return bout against Yoshihiro Kamegai. The fight will be Guerrero's first since his May, 2013 loss to Floyd Mayweather. Gary Russell Jr. will face Vasyl Lomachenko for the vacant WBO featherweight title to round the tripleheader that will be broadcast on Showtime.

I dislike this entire card (maybe Russel-Lomo is okay) and I hate Alexander vs Guerrero even more.

Agreed. Both of their styles could make a real stinker.

Alexander-Guerrero would be a competitive fight between two top 10 fighters in the division. It would be a significant matchup in terms of clearing up the pecking order at 147, I'd watch it.

100% spot on brother. Guerrero-Alexander should be fighting each other instead they are wasting time just for these guys to fight and watch them not even fight each other due to contract or money dispute.

Both of these fighters really think they are megastars now, especially Guerrero who fights once a year.

I do agree that Alexander should be fighting Guerrero now, but I can see that Guerrero feels he needs a tune up. Not happy about that, but i'm cool with it. That being said, Devon has more balls than Khan. Soto-Karass is a warrior. Devon has asked for both Khan and Guerrero, and been turned down, fought a beast in Porter, and now fighting a monster. I wish him luck.

Agreed. The fight would probably be ugly, but it might be the vicious type of ugly where both guys are trying to hurt each other.
