    Showtime or Golden Boy?

Whose the promoter? Showtime is paying 200M to floyd, that is 32M for each fight, very similiar to the "purse" that the Nevada Commission holds. How does floyd's deal differ than other fighters?

    Isn't Showtime then a de-facto promoter?

The check comes from GBP, but nobody knows the terms of the deal so everything is speculation…

I’d speculate that Sho is the guarantor for his minimum.

Showtime is not a promotor. They pay Floyd for his fights, but those fights are set up by the promotor (GBP). Showtime likely has the power to veto proposed fights though.

Floyd promotes and runs his own show, but co promotes with GoldenBoy because they have a license. He pays them a certain fee to do it..Showtime pays Goldenboy because they have the license and they in return cut Floyd a check

Showtime had a similar deal going with a lot of Don King fighters in the 90s. The promoter is Golden boy. Showtime is the network a lot of guys fight on

The thing with Mayweather is he is tied to that network thus the network taking an apparent 50% of revenue.

But really, with so much money involved, who knows? Its crooked at the top.

"pay floyd" that is what a "promoter" does.

showtime is literally run by someone from golden boy. this is the reason rejects like quillin make so much. there is no quality control because they are the same people in charge of both companies. its so easy to spend other peoples money. this wont last long because the ratings haven't been great but it was a fun ride.
