BoxingScene.com recently spoke to WBO super featherweight champion Mikey Garcia (34-0) who is currently in litigation with his promoter Top Rank. Garcia feels that his contract isn't valid and that he should be a free agent. He said that there aren't any updates in regards to his case.

"Nothing yet. We are just playing the waiting game. I want to be back in the ring as soon as possible but we are still working things out. We are waiting to see if they offer me something," Garcia stated.

I hope Mikey gets some good council on this one. If you have to come to the point of suing your employer, why the f___ would you want to stay with them? So many people hate Bob Arum, it must be for a reason. Plus having to go through this legal mess and sit out several months while in your prime is also another reason he should leave.

Have you guys actually read the case that Mikey has brought against Arum? The case has zero to do with money or Gamboa fight! His contract was in direct conflict with the Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act, Mikey's looking to renegotiate without the breach in the act! And AddiX, that "Mexican Midget" as you say would **** you up so I'd advise you to stick to your keyboard fighting mate

this is the mayweather pacquiao effect. unfortunately, some boxers feel they're worth more than they're offered. this is not directed at mikey, but sometimes fighters feel that if they're very well known in the boxing community, they're also stars our there in general.
