Comments Thread For: Khan Admits Fear He Will Never Get Mayweather

British star Amir Khan doesn't deny he's pushing hard to get a fight with WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. Khan fears that a fight with Mayweather will never happen. He failed in securing Mayweather in 2013, and got passed over for Mayweather's return on May 3rd, and because of scheduling issues he likely won't face him until May 2015 at the earliest.

He should just worry about taking care of his business and that will take care of itself. His unwillingness to fight in September does kind of screw him because he only gets that one chance a year and if something better comes up for next May there is not much he can do.

QUIT! Quit begging. I've seen dogs beg like this at the table. I want Khan to get the fight, but her needs to quit groveling and sniveling. Khan needs to move on, raise his sights, make millions without Floyd. It can be done.

Mayweather, Schaefer, Haymon want Mayweather vs Khan, they just can't deal with the media/fan backlash they would get if they make the fight without Khan deserving it. Mayweather wants Khan coming off a big win, similar to Maidana with Broner, Mosley with Margarito, Ortiz with Berto, etc. If he beats Khan, he wants to get at least some credit for it. Beating Carlos Molina, barely beating Diaz, and dominating a decent but dangerous non top 10 WW in Collazo is not enough. I think Floyd should fight Maidana again and wait until Khan beats a top 10 guy, to at least get some credit for winning.

I was impressed with Khan's win over Collazo, maybe the 147 limit led him to focus more on training to box and cut back on training to make weight, making for a better boxer. It seems like BS from fighters when they say that, but it truly is an advantage when you have more wiggle room to make weight. Floyd, Pac, Marquez, never have any trouble making 147 because they basically walk around 150lbs, so their training camp consists of training for the fight rather than to make weight, there's no stress on making weight and that is a huge but underrated advantage.
