around the brown/rothmann fights, i heard that bell had a weak chin. after the mormeck fight, i hear that bell has a pretty solid chin.
which one is it?
Don't know....because I think Mormeck's power was overrated.
Mormeck looked like a heavy hitter against naturally smaller guys like Virgil Hill & Braithwaite....but didn't seem to have a whole lot of effect on the larger Bell.

I wouldn't call Braithewaite a smaller guy. Then again I would somewhat agree with your assertion that Mormecks power may be a bit overrated. He's a heavy overall puncher, Bell just did some clever things to take the steam out of those shots.
Bell seems to have a pretty steady chin. If he can stand up to the shots Mormeck hit him with I think he can stand up to pretty much anything cruiser on down. His problem seems to be motivation...as evidenced in the Dale Brown/Kelvin Davis fights.
I want to see him fight Tarver, badly. A rematch with Davis could be good too, because that was a shady stoppage.
I think is has an ok chin, not the best. Sometimes it looks like he gets rocked hard, but i think that its because he fights standing straight up and when he gets hit his entire upper body moves.

Well....Mormeck outweighed Braithewaite by ten lbs when they fought, while weighing one lb less than O'Neill Bell. That is a definite factor. Especially when you're talking about the strength & power factors.

I think it was more so Bell just mentally being there and ready to roll with punches...and the fact that Mormeck, while a "strong" hitter, tires easily inbetween rallies
