He's good at commentating but terrible at interviews. Watch his next interview, no humour, sad puppy eyes and looks nervous like he's afraid he's going to be punched.

    I miss Merchant:

    "Aren't you embarrassed?"
"Well, he should have joined the circus then!"
"I'd rather watch tyres spin than watch this"
"wake me up when it's over, Jim"

Max is a terrible commentator, terrible post fight interviewer, and doesn't know shit about other sports but somehow he got the co host gig on First Take. Skip Stephen A. Smith have worked the beat for other sports. Max has never worked the beat for any other sports. Boxing fans would have a fit if someone from outside of boxing came in and started covering boxing. They had a fit when Stephen A. Smith did it for the Pacquiao fight. They have a fit over youtube boxing channels. But Max is allowed to waltz in and talk about sports he's never covered and knows nothing about.

It's his two-faced personality that annoys me the most. There is no bigger di*k-sucker of an interviewer when talking to a big name fighter who has just won.

But if he's talking to some little known guy, a regular b-sider, he acts like he's the star and the fighter is deserving of no respect whatsoever. The guy's salary is paid by the men who just went through 12 rounds of hell in the ring. You can ask hard questions, but the very least you must do is show these men respect.

You could smell the desperation on Saturday night. If both Gonzalez and Golovkin had lost the lights would have been going off.

HBO's glory days were great. Most of my favourite boxing memories are from that time. But lately there are nights when you almost wished they would go out of business. A once great boxing platform is now at sky sports levels of bias and exaggeration.

Steve Kim? What did he do? Just stood in line? I never got the vibe that he was rude. Was he rude to you personally?

^Pretty much this. I was very pissed off how he disrespected that Thai Boxer (sorry cant spell his name). If he understood English, he may have floored Max. I dont care if he's 120 lbs, he would have dropped him with no problem. I used to enjoy his commentary back on FNF on Espn 2 before. But his comment was an arrogant cheap shot. I didn't hear his commentary on The Fight (The Stream I found happened to carry British commentary). Was he acting like that during The Whole Fight?

What a ****ing ****head. That sort of remark, if it has any place at all, should be reserved for blatant highway robberies. Kellerman decided to frame Rungvisai's hard earned win in what was a close fight as some sort of fraudulent decision just because their guy lost.

Honestly HBO's coverage of that fight was a disgrace. Embarrassing stuff.
I don't dislike Max generally, but I came here to write exactly this. The BoxNation hosts in the studio actually called him out on it during the live broadcast as being a insulting comment to say to a fighter who came from nothing and just fought his heart out to overcome huge odds.

He's a biased clown. This is a guy who insisted that Butler shouldn't have lost his boxing license after he hit Grant with a cheap shot after the fight and broke his jaw. The same Butler who would later kill Max's brother with a hammer. He was friends with Butler and defended that low-life. His shameless coverage of certain fighters kills his credibility.

That said, he is way more tolerable than Ranallo.

I used to feel indifferent towards him but lately his ignorance of the sport is showing. He tries to be more fair to fighters than the average commentator but his woeful ignorance is becoming an issue.

Like when he says certain fighters have a zero percent chance to win fights it is just not factually true. Nothing is a 100 percent guarantee in life except for the fact that we're all going to die one day. It annoys the hell out of me when he gives fight predictions and says so and so "has a 0 percent chance to win"

This is a picture of the canvas Kellerman was standing on when he talked that shit to Rungvisai.

Taken just after the fight finished.

                      What a prick.
