What welterweight/jr middleweights were eager to fight middleweight champ Sergio at that time??? Now that there nothing left at 154 for Cotto aside from Canelo he's going for him.

I remember it like it was yesterday, Cotto said "Will Martinez get me $5million like Margarito?" This was in 2012 though.

It all came down to money though. Unsurprisingly, fighting him now also came down to money. Martinez is the biggest pay day out there not named Mayweather or Pacquiao.

There are so many DB's on this site.... crawl back under your rocks P U S Sies... Cotto is the real deal, if we can get more fighters like him boxing could be truly great again. Has he made choices based on financial reasons? Of course but he has also consistenetly took on some of the best fighters on the planet and fought his ass off. Never enough for some....

Cotto chooses to fight Martinez, before Floyd, Manny or Canelo do but gets hate because it wasn't fast enough... Who ****ing cares he is fighting him at, yes a catchweight, but only 1 pound difference. Any of those other three would have asked for 155. Some people are just ****ing impossible to satsify, seriously who gives a **** they are fighting and it's 50/50 fight enjoy it.
