Is Haye's success while being so lazy kind of admirable?

I am not a fan of his bs outside the ring loud bark no bite and excuses but look at how well he has done being so inactive he just starts talking and everyone buys into it. The guy knows just what to do when he wants a payday and gets it.

He does have talent, kind of a shame he doesn't like being a boxer and is using this as a platform to be an actor/tv personality.

He is, not to mention a very slick salesman too. He really had half the fans believing he was going to lay Wlad out when in actuality didn't do anything to warrant a shot or lead anyone to believe that would happen while some fighters take on tough comp regularly and no one cares.

Haye has always marketed himself very well, shame he couldn't put his words into action though.

Still a top heavyweight if you ask me and if he can overcome this shoulder injury, there's good fights for him imo.

Not really admirable. I think it's annoying, especially because, as you say, the guy has talent - and had the tools to become a very entertaining heavyweight.

He's been injury prone all his career, dating back the amateurs - so it's nothing new really. He had special training to accommodate his back problems in the world championships in 1999.

Other than that, I do think he deserved the fight in 2011 as it was the fight people wanted to see. He came up as unified champion, beat a couple of guys incl Nikolai Valuev for a belt & John Ruiz. I think that's a lot more than what recent challengers have done to get a shot at the champ, I'm sure we can all agree.

There are good fights out there for him should he get his injury fully healed. But if it isn't, I say good riddance. He had a good career and I'm not sure the people could handle another cancellation from his side.

I used to be a big fan of Haye but his past few years have been enough to make me think twice about how much I should support him, but yeah he is a cool guy, has a lot of talent etc...Just a shame he didnt capitalise on being built as the next breed of heavyweight so to speak...

Good guy though just a shame he is more salesman than prizefighter, if you get what I mean

I talk **** about him constantly but you've got to admire his hustle. The guy has absolutely no shame.

He ruins Sky's biggest PPV of the year TWICE....and then shows up ON SKY the NEXT WEEK in a ridiculously over the top arm sling to get PAID to "analyse" the Froch vs Groves fight. No shame whatsoever!

Honestly, he's quite close to being my idol.
