Implementing a minimum # defense rule for champions

Is it possible? For ALL 4 sanctioning bodies to implement this type of rule? I'd say at least 3 defenses a year would be good given no serious injuries happen to the fighter.

Of course the main issues would be the purses, dates, and finding appropriate opponents but would is it plausible?

no way they could do that
any number of issues could stop that from happening
guys get hurt, they have families, they get ill, etc
then there's the usual garbage with money, promoters, managers, etc
agree a guy should have 1 yr to defend before he gets stripped
but minimum defenses per yr? that's unrealistic past just 1

We Be Crooks has been in full force for some time, damn shame.

I do like the idea of a maximum time to get a fight signed as a champion. I don't wanna see Don King hold onto that belt for a year without defending..

How long did Vitali hold his belt without fighting?
I just checked Wikipedia and last bout was Sept. 9, 2012.
That's a long time to hold a belt without fighting, anyone know the exact date his belt was left vacant?

Yeah I wish that was implemented. Might just shake things up a bit, boxing is entertaining but at the title holding level it is very mundane and predictable.
