But, no way a master counter-puncher like McCallum gets beaten by the ****** & aimless fighter Benn was back then.
The actual fight with Watson, yeah it was shocking. But if he was fighting McCallum that night, he wouldn't of been so reckless. I just don't know if McCallum would of handled Benn's fast, stinging punches because he was slowing down at that point and I remember it wasn't much of a performance against a washed up Herol Graham - and that wasn't the ultra-defensive Graham because I remember Graham kept jumping in from weird angles and making McCallum look bad. Actually, I don't know if anybody out there other than Nunn could of handled Benn at his physical peak in 1987/88 - if he wasn't extremely reckless like against Logan (or too reckless like against Watson).

Yeah, because during that time period, Benn was beating really incredible fighters, wasn't he ?

I said physical peak though, Benn's hands were so fast in his first 10 fights and he let his punches off from alsorts of angles - and you could see every single punch STUNG like ****. And the power he possessed back then was scarey, frightening. Some of his KO's sounded like a ******* going off, and guys would wake up in hospital beds. I remember genuinely thinking he was unbeatable at the time, but I was only young I suppose.

You don't think the low-level of foes he was facing was helping him out ?
If not, you must be a constantly disappointed fight fan, because you get too excited by someone who winds up getting exposed when they step up. Just as Benn was by Watson.

Nigel was an awesome fighter with great speed and power but not much ring savvy in terms of adjusting ot his opponenet. I think he is beaten by any slick boxer which is the case with most power punchers.

Reggie Miller said Benn hit harder than Mark Breland, American loud-mouth Tim Williams got absolutely anihilated for one and a half rounds (he'd easily won the first two rounds against Robbie Sims, Alex Ramos and James Kinchen if you watch those fights), Logan was a Top 20 WBC middleweight and Noel was a Top 15 WBC middleweight - both got KTFO, the opposition wasn't completely trash.
