Wlad just landed more jabs. At no point in the fight did either fighter engage or tried to knock the other guy out. Very smart from Wlad actually.
Having all the physical advantages, it was damn near impossible for Haye to land anything because Wlad has so good footwork and longer arms. Also, after the 6th round Haye was sloppy and didn't really throw much. Maybe he was a bit hurt from a punch he took in the 5th or 6th.
The first 6 rounds were all pretty close, but were mostly won by Wlad by taking the incentive and landing a couple more jabs per round.Comment

Most rounds were won like that imo.

Well, that's my point exactly.
Who brings anything to the negotiating table other than Haye? No one. At least no one, maybe aside from Chisora/Fury now with the backing of BoxNation.
Other than that, no one are fighting on huge shows anywhere - which means they bring nothing to the table.
So if you are a, say, Tyson Fury who's looking at a mandatory soon, why would you go to fight Wlad for $300k + 2-3 options, when he can go the mandatory route and get a lot more with no options?
If Wlad was willing to pay $1.5 to get Fury over with, say, 1 option - then Fury would have probably taken the fight. But he won't, so it doesn't make financial sense for Fury.
Haye didn't work with Don King? He owed Sauerland 2 fights after Valuev as co-promoters.
I'm all for fighters cutting out the middleman, but it should work to the advantage of boxing, not to hold the fighters hostage. Imagine if Klitschko did get beaten, then said fighter would be contractually bound to fight him the next 2-3 times he fights. That's ridiculous.
1 rematch - absolutely fine. 2 is really pushing it, and 3 is just embarrassing.
And that's why you get Wlad fighting guys like Wach and Pianeta - because everyone else have the talent and the common sense to fight other guys for just as much money + having a shot at a mandatory and then hit the jackpot.
Once again, not blaming Wlad (that much), because he would lose money by fighting top guys most likely, otherwise he would have. The german fans are there in full force either way, and seeing he's on a contract with RTL he makes the same whether he fights Fury or Leapai.
To start with Fury is actually ranked rather high when Chisora was ranked somewhere around 20th in the world when Vitali fought him. Fury is also well known when casual fans had no idea who Chisora was at the time. And if you don't believe those facts make a difference while negotiating a fight, again I don't know what to tell you. Simply put Fury is not Chisora and I am positive that he would command a much higher payday any day of the of week because of that fact alone.
As far as Wlad only fighting the Wach's of the world that is just a pile of steamy bull5hit. These are the facts, Wlad has fought eighteen times since 2005 and twelve of his opponents, that is exactly two thirds of them, were ranked in Rings top ten when they fought. Please tell me how many other fighters can make that claim. I know that there are some but its still a short list.
I would also like you to point out to me how many fighters that have as many title fights as Wlad that don't have their share of stay busy defenses against way less then great opponents. If you want a great example go no further then the career of Larry Holmes. He fought some sorry a$$ opponents in title fights and he is still considered by many as one of the all time greats in the heavyweight division. So stop talking as if Wlad is the only one that has done this when it is in fact rather common occurrence.
You also may have had a point if those fighters were actually fighting other elite fighters. But for the most part they aren't. They fight so so opponents while still calling out who? Wlad that's who.
As far as Haye is concerned whether it was Sauerland or Don King my point was that he still owed someone a couple of fights. And who was that someone? It was the promoters. I also want to see if I understand what you are saying. Is it alright that any fighters are obligated to owe fights to Arum or Don King or Sauerland but not K2? Because when they owe them to K2 you claim that they are somehow being held hostage. I have to ask how are they being held hostage?
To begin with rematch clauses are common. And if there was a clause to fight Vitali if Wlad lost how would that have been a bad thing? After all it would have a been a unification fight for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world. And why any fan would complain about that is beyond me.
That really is a moot point simply because Vitali is now retired. With that said, I do not believe for a moment that Wlad would expect a fighter that beat him to fight him an additional three times after the lose. Because not only is Wlad a fighter but he also a businessman. And if he lost twice in a row to the same fighter I am pretty sure he would realize that no one would be interested in a third fight much less a fourth one between the same fighters.
Therefore I do really believe that he would exercise his options with other fighters. And why not after all he is a promoter that holds options on fighters just like the Don King and Bob Arums of the world.Comment

Haye is a disgrace.
Spends 2 years denigrating the Klitschkos and their opposition, talking about how they are just in it to survive and don't have the guts to take chances...and then he does the same thing. And blames it on his toe.Comment

A fighter himself is IN MOST CASES only 50% of the equation to be 'exciting'. Apart from Tyson, who can name multiple fighters who made fights exciting just themselves? Unfortunately, Wlad is that far ahead of his competition that these one-sided beatdowns can seem boring to some. Nevertheless, Wlad has the mix of size, athleticism, power and skills, and finishes most of his fights by KO.
Sure, he could and should clinch less (although again this is due to some opponents) but really who can blame him if he needs to protect his chin? He isn't going to change his tactics to lose to appease his haters.
Instead of complaining, the Brits and Americans should actually manufacture a legitimate threat who can force Wlad into an 'exciting' fight.Comment
