Rios is not the one making the fight offers, his promoter is, and I'm pretty sure Omar was offered the fight. But even Omar said he won't drop to 150 so the fight was unlikely. But if Top Rank is even approaching an opponent for a weight of 150, there must be no doubt that Rios is ever heading back to 140.

So Provo wanted to defend his 140 title against Rios at 140. rios balked at the idea, wanted the fight at 147, and Provo reiterated he just won his title at '40
And wanted to defend there so then Provo sealed someone else at 140. It was then Rios goes on a rant about how he would have fought Provo at 140. Provo allegedly was ducking him which was all BS. Rios had his chane. NOW he wants to fight Omar Chavez at a catch weight of 150???? It's only 10 pounds but if Rios could fight at 140, then why isn't he??? He's not even fighting at 147. Why are you looking at a guy at 154, trying to get him at 150? Because he can't get to 140, which is why he wanted to put up resistance to Provo trying to get him at 147. If he can make 140, call out Danny Garcia, call out Matthysee. When u wouldn't fight Provo there. At 147, call out Thurman! Call out Guerrero, call out Porter. But you'd rather approach Onar Chavez of all people who fights at 154, seeking to get him at 150. All those other fights make him plenty more money than fighting Omar Chavez, who we've heard little about. What this tells you is Rios is undisciplined, after getting his biggest payday for watching Pacquiao pound on him, he's eaten and drank himself far removed from '40, and soon to be '47 it appears. So this is a perfect fight for a b/c level fighter who has never beaten anyone except for another b/c level fighter in Alvarado, and nobody else, to fight another nobody named Omar.Comment

He's partied himself out of 140 with his paycheck and beatdown from Pacquiao. If he could make 140, he would. Plenty of great fights, great paydays there. Garcia, Matthysee, Peterson, Berto, Boner. If he was deadset 147 is his class , plenty of fights and paydays to be had there: Thurman, Kell Brook, Guerrero who called out Rios, Khan, Tim Bradley, Porter. There is obviously a problem they are keeping quiet about Rios' conditioning and weight. You want to fight a no name Chavez brother at a catch weight of 150, asking him to come down from 154. Hell, Rios makes more money fighting ANY of those guys I just mentioned, than Omar Chavez. They are steering him this direction for a conditioning reason we will learn about later. Stay tuned. You don't bypass all those big names just mentioned for this ****** 150 scenario.Comment

Omar Chavez is trying to use Rios as a stepping stone but if this fight happens its gonna backfire on him bigtime! Rios will KO him easily.Comment

Put Rios against anyone that can box half decent and he'll get out pointed easily. Lucky for him that he is not part of the GBP stable.Comment
