Seems to me all the financial projections are mere speculation since the details of Floyd's agreement with CBS/Showtime is not public knowledge. Why are people so vested in hoping the deal is a failure?

The rematch will sell massively because people will now believe that Maidana "will win" and people will have heard stories that Maidana "should have won" it is perfectly set up for a rematch marketing wise. Also solves the September opponent problem...
That is why part of me felt during the fight that Floyd was being passive at times on purpose to make it closer.
