With regards to Showtime making/losing money. It really depends on what their plans are. I think too many people in this thread are thinking short term, when they are most likely thinking long term.
It's probably their hope that they make a profit from Mayweather, but ultimately he is only going to be around for a couple more years so I doubt their long term plans are pinned on him. When they signed Mayweather, their intention was probably to established themselves as the scene for boxing.
To that end, I suspect that they're looking to make long term profit with guys like Canelo, Broner, Porter, Thurman, Garcia, Maidana, Matthysse and so on. They're fighters who will command less money, but fighters whose name value is increasing by being exposed to Mayweather.
I think their biggest threat is HBO swooping in once the fighters' improve their brand, like what happened with Andre Ward after the Showtime tournament.

@theboxingbrains @sweetboxing From within the walls of the GBP office on that number. On Pac-Bradley, was told to me by a party involved.

@rjgbass He***39;s not a bad draw, but the guarantee of 32 million means Floyd has to do over 1 million buys for Showtime to profit.

What does this mean for a potential September opponent? Will they leave it until November for a Khan fight?

“No numbers yet,” Espinoza said to thesweetscience. “Cable hasn’t even reported yet. Any numbers floating are are pure speculation.”

After the Ghost fight did **** numbers they announced the Canleo fight which was the biggest fight at the time. Maybe they will go into damage control and announce another big fight but the only other big fight is Pac (not happening) so not sure what there plan will be.
I believe Khan will do better numbers then Marcus.
Also are showtime up or down on Floyd contract? I know the canelo fight they would of made a killing so i wonder what the numbers panned out over his next fights have to be for them to break even? Obviously it wouldnt be as high as a million anymore.

Stopped at page one. Low numbers can be blamed on everybody who streamed the fight instead of buying it. The streaming has effected both Floyd and Manny.
