After a legendary performance like that you'd think that a guy would use that victory as a huge boost and resurgence for his career where he was the ultimate underachiever. But he did the complete opposite. This LOSER was nearly 15 pounds overweight in his first defense, and after the first punch he gets hit with he looks for a comfy spot on the canvas and clearly takes a dive. Quits and throws his undisputed title away, and along with that millions and millions of dollars that he could have earned for himself and his family to be set for life.

Case in point he made a deal with Sega to get his own videogame. He lost the title before the game was even out.

He becomes a classic case of a dumb boxer losing all of his money, and instead of trying to better the situation and fighting again to make a living he nearly eats himself into an early grave(his weight went up to nearly 400lbs and almost dies of diabetic complications) and retires from the sport.

He takes a dive again many years later in his 'comeback'. He is left with no option but to start a business that sells condoms.

Nice subliminal message there, James. I think your boxing career could have used some condoms because you've ****ed it beyond belief when you had a legit chance at greatness and success.

Holyfield should have been the guy to give Tyson his first loss(and likely would have been if Douglass had stayed on the canvas in the 8th, something he's used to), atleast he would have done something with a win like that, instead of throwing everything away and disgracing himself and his sport. He did nothing but disrupt boxing history.
Wow, you really are a true idiot. BTW I did mention Douglas' diabetic coma, and the part where I conceded he didn't always prepare well for his fights, but you're so busy running off at the mouth you don't care or bother to absorb what logic comes from the other side. Dipfeks like you are a dime a dozen. So loud you can't hear a f ing thing from anybody. And yeah, he came in out of shape for Holyfield, but at that point Evander was practically unbeatable. No excuses, it's just what happened. BTW Buster's wife invested their money well, and yes they are and have been set for life for many many years now. Get a life jurr-cough. You'll never be 1/10th of what Buster was in the division.

This is so wonderfully ironic. The next time you try to use that as insult make sure you don't ignore all the arguments I made that showed you what a loser Douglass is.

Hahahaha, good lord. I actually had to read this twice to make sure I wasn't dreaming, this is such a hilarious statement.

Holyfield was so unbeatable that he was almost stopped by journeyman Bert Cooper. So unbeatable that he was still being questioned as a blown up Cruiserweight. So unbeatable that he only defended his belt 3 times before losing it. One against Cooper where he got dropped and hurt several times, and the other two against ancient ATG hw's.

What kind of idiotic excuse is that, btw? You know who was TRULY considered unbeatable? Tyson. And Douglass beat him. yet you're excusing his disgraceful QUIT of the sport because you think Holyfield was so good, which wouldn't be a valid reason either way.

I love how right after making excuses you end your sentence with 'no excuses'.

Whatever career I choose in life, no matter what it is, you can be damn sure that if I ever work hard enough to achieve something great, I will not quit like a loser right when I get the oppertunity to become something great in my life.

You should choose your idols more carefully. Douglass should not be glorified.

Where to start with an obvious dumbazz loo-zurr? Wow, you just keep proving how completely ignorant you are. Almost stopped by Cooper? Wow airhead, you must've had alotta money on Cooper that night. He never dropped Holyfield, just caught him with one good shot that slammed him into the ropes. Yeah he probably would've went down if not for the ropes... but he DIDN'T. And within a few rounds he stopped Cooper, a last minute replacement with a completely different style than the initial opponent.

You're one of those idiots who thinks everything you say and do is the goods, but anyone else if full of it. I had a friend like you. HAD the key word. He would never admit he made a mistake. Never admit he judged something wrong. That's you. A little weakling inside. If we were face to face I could easily make you sob uncontrollably in front of your friends. Little pizzant loser bwaaaay. Pizz off, dipfek.
