What I don't understand about boxing fans today...

First of all, why is it that so many of y'all (in general, not this forum in particular) want guys like Floyd Mayweather to move up to middleweight/SMW to fight GGG and Andre Ward? The **** is the point of that? Even if he were to fight them, and do it at a catchweight, some of you guys would just complain & say they were drained or Floyd cherrypicked them to avoid . Why is it that nobody minds Manny doing 2 catchweights to Cotto & Margacheato, then weight drains DLH & Mosley, but as soon as Canelo offers a catchweight fight to Floyd and he takes it, everybody riots? Also, why do people think that because Floyd is against a fighter much more aggressive than him (Cotto, DLH & Maidana), and they throw flurries against him, that the blueprint is out on him, even though most of those punches aren't even landing clean, if at all?

Secondly, why do people use so many triangle theories, especially with this upcoming Canelo-Lara fight in July? Some guys say that because Canelo destroyed Angulo and Angulo gave Lara that work the fight prior, means that Canelo will somehow walk through Lara (forgetting that Lara also TKO'd Angulo). Canelo and Angulo don't even fight the same, so Lara won't even have to worry about a pressure fighter who has heavy hands but he will have a decent counterpuncher at the other end.

Last but not least; the whole string of "Floyd, Rigo, Lara & Andre Ward are boring" comments you hear all over the net. I don't think most people like the fact that guys with the styles they have don't just go in for the kill from the get go and/or let themselves be punching bags; they'd prefer to sit back and slowly but surely pick you apart and then go for the kill, all while not getting hit at the same time. The entire notion of boxing is hitting w/o getting hit, but apparently most people just want bar fights these days. I love watching Floyd just as much as I loved watching JCC in his prime, but you can't honestly tell me that guys like Rigo & Andre Ward don't have massive skills of their own just because they don't fight like robots (Brandon Rios for example). Some of you guys don't know **** about boxing.

For those of you short attention span having posters on here:

Way too many double standards when it comes to Floyd & Manny
    Triangle theories are bull****
Most people that think Floyd & the like are boring or don't have any talent because they aren't punching bags DKSAB

For the first question. People just LOVE excuses. They are whats vogue today. Nobody owns up to ANYTHING.
Second part "STYLE" is rarely taken into account. Just cause Joe blow can beat tomato can A, and tomato can A can beat tomato can B. Doesn't mean that tomato can B can't whip Joe Blow. I know its very complicated for some people, which is why they shouldn't think so hard.
3rd think the guys you mention are great boxers but they get away with to much holding and leaning. Those things should be illegal period. Its not a sumo wrestling match. OH and happy Mothers day everyone.

Golovkin's team asked for Floyd at 154 not middleweight
You know, where he's the quote "champion" unquote

I agree he should just focus on 147 because even if he can grab those bigger belts from select guys he can't defend them against the division

Soon as I seen your avatar I knew you were a Floyd nuthugger. Is there any black people that actually are true fans and see through all the bs or is it the "I'm black, he's black, he is always right" mentality?

yep.. he also struggled with lesser fighters at times without people making too much of a deal about it and admittedly beat women on a regular basis as opposed to allegedly once.

some guys just get held to a different standard, floyd gets held to a higher standard in every way than any other boxer i have ever seen. meanwhile guys like srl can get away with all kinds of sht.

Pretty much, and Canelo didn't offer a catchweight either, Floyd offered 147 and wouldn't budge on 152.

The entire notion of boxing isn't hit without getting hit, it isn't the ams, pro boxing is about winning the fight whether you get hit or not.

OP is butthurt flomo, only real point he had was about Canelo not walking through Lara based on Angulo.

Dude any boxers that go up or down in weight to make a fight are doing it for there own reasons. It could be for an easy pay day or to make an easy fight. Regardless, in my opinion, it isn't a good way to measure the quality of a boxer. A PRIME boxing weight is SET for everyone. Anything outside of that weight is a fantasy fight. It isn't set in reality. Most people don't even know there IDEAL BODY WEIGHT much less a BOXERS ideal body weight, which is different. Most people think skinny people are skinny when in reality they are overweight. Tells you how many hogs are walking around.

Are you insanely ****** and ignorant or were you not following the sport at that time? Pacquiao was trashed consistently at that time and for a good couple of years after for those catchweights, hence the term "catchweight king" being regularly applied to Pacquiao from 2009-2012.

Nobody makes as big a deal about it nowadays because the same people who previously made a big deal about it had to sit back and endure an endless amount of abuse after their hero, who previously discredited Pacquiao's catchweight wins/fights, went ahead and requested the same stipulation for a fight in a weight class in which he already held a title.
