Stiverne's promoter, Don King, has revealed that Stiverne has an 'optional defence of the WBC title upcoming'.

If this is the case, Deontay Wilder may have to wait until 2015 before getting a shot.

Sulaiman already said whoever won the vacant belt would have to make 2 mandatory defenses since the WBC belt wasn't defended against the mando enough or something. That's why there was two WBC eliminators

WBC rules state upon picking up a vacant title you have to have two back to back mandatories.I don't understand the confusion with King,maybe he is hinting at a fight with Wladimir between defences,I should imagine they are in no great rush to defend with all the would be potential interviews,sponsorship,revenue etc.King is no doubt due a percentage of everything.
