It's exactly because casuals are the economic engine of the sport that having an undisputed champ may not necessarily be a good thing.Yes, we hardcores do know who the real champs are in every division, but sadly it is the casuals that are the economic engine of the sport. The difference it'll make is that once we have an undisputed champ everyone will be forced to take notice in all corners of the world. Wlad-Haye drew 500 million viewers, so imagine once we do have a single champ?
Once the belts are unified they will be passed on as "one" most likely. Plus there isn't a 100% guarantee Wlad wins.
Let me demonstrate that with an example. Every harcore fan knows that the best SMW in the world is Andre Ward, and that Arthur Abraham's belt is as paper as it gets. BUT to casuals in Germany, Abraham is a hero. Two division champ, three time world titlist. They couldn't care less about the level of his opposition. And Abraham fights in sold out venues, and his matches are regularly broadcast on German TV. Would it be any better for the sport of boxing if Ward had that belt and Abraham wasn't "overrated" by casuals in Germany (and Europe in general)? No, on the contrary.Comment

If Wilder wanted to be deserving for the title shot he should of fought Chisora at the very least a win over someone who can actually take a punch...
His resume just flat out stinks.Comment

I would watch the fight even if he doesn't deserve it. Because its not like hes not capable of winning the fight. Competition in heavyweight is rubbish right now. This fight is only one that gets me buzzing and want to watch heavyweight boxing again. Win lose or get KFTO would be exciting for heavyweight boxing.
All this deserving talk is really killing boxing. let em just fight!!!!Comment
