How Much Was HBO Offering For JR vs GGG?

im just wondering dont really care about a fighters money, but something ive been mauling over and correct me if I am wrong.

The Network will Pay for a Fight and The Promoters Split it to the Fighters how they see fit. So say 5 Million for the fight and they split it 2.5 for each.

Top Rank offered Chavez Jr 2.5 million without an extension and 7 million with an extension.

Where does this extra money comes from? if it PPV then shouldent chavez get some upside without the extension and most likely get 7 million for the fight anyways?

It's HBO's money, they'll pay more for a larger return over a longer period and less for a smaller return over a shorter period.

    Simple economics.

HBO doesn't pay money for PPVs. They distribute them and actually receive a cut of it themselves. All the revenue comes the buys.

HBO only pays the rights to air the next week replay, which isn't much I think.
