as for golovkin, same thing. he isnt a 168lber. im so sick of people saying various guys are ducking fighters who arent even in their division, ITS NOT POSSIBLE. weightclasses are there for a reason and every fighter can choose which ever one he damn well pleases, within that division you should expect him to fight the best in order to call himself the best or even one of the best at the weight. but you can never force a guy to move up, even if there is nobody to fight. they choose their division, period. they move up if and when they please and if they choose not to that will never ever be a duck. ducking someone is avoiding someone in your direct path, you cant be on a collision course without being in the same weight category though.
Great post but you conveniently left out the fact that GGG was about to take a fight at 168 vs. JCC. Without that piece of information, everything you said would be correct.

The timing of the fight is not right.

Either they need to fight at the CW or GGG needs to fight 2-3 solid SMW before he fights Ward.

Ward needs to sort out his promotional situation. GGG can't get a fight at MW, shame I really thought the Pirog fight would have been great.

It's easy money for Andre but, of course, he's dealing with contact disputes which are derailing any immediate fight prospects. Hard to say whether Golovkin wants this. His team would be wise to advise him not to. But, hopefully it will happen. Good win for Ward since many of his notable wins are guys who have since faded.

              Is Ward avoiding Kovalev?

Physically Ward/Kovalev are closer than Ward/GGG.

Ward is too tough of a challenge right now. GGG plays right into Wards game. Huge fan of both fighters though.

Ward wants the fight, GGG probably would want the fight too. GGG's team is trying to keep him away from Ward tho, plus Ward is in no position to really pursue the fight himself at the moment

Ward beats Golovkin EASY. Saying that any hold up is definately Goosens fault especially with the list of bums (compared to no.2 pound for pound) he got offered.
