Because Mayweather pays Golden Boy a fee to co-promote his fights. Keep in mind, he has a lucrative deal directly with Showtime. Not directly with Golden Boy. If Floyd wanted, he could have Top Rank promote his next fight. This is what Miguel Cotto does. Cotto can have either Top Rank or Golden Boy promote his fights, and he's the only one who's used both in recent years.Comment

Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotion cuts the check for all the fighters.
This is not really a huge secret everyone knows it.Comment

To be honest, I don't care who cuts my own check as long as it's cut and accurate.Comment

there's a guarantee in his contract that says that he will get a certain amount of guaranteed money within a certain amount of time after the fight.
it's probably the full guarantee within a week or so, or half of the garantee within a week, etc. they wait for PPV money to pile in, which doesn't happen instantly.
mayweather promotions has almost zero involvement in promoting this fight. they don't copromote on an equal playing field with GBP. GBP foots the bill, and htey rake in the profits. floyd gets a garantee, and GBP hopes that the cost of the promotion, and the cost of paying for the fight [the garantee for the fighters,] is covered by PPV sales.
short answer:
nobody cuts floyd a 32 million dollar check. it will be paid to him in several installments over the course of the few weeks following the fight. goldenboy promotions is the company with its name on the checks. he probably gets half within a couple days, and the rest within a couple of weeks.
additionally, fighters have expenses. the better you get, the more expensive they are. you pay a manager up to 33% [no more under the ali act.] you run your training camp, and pay for it.Comment

Even Floyd... like Floyd is the ultimate Pacman authority.
Of course Pacman is getting less after he was knocked out cold. You think Floyd would still be getting 30+mill after he got knocked out cold?
But Pre-marquez 4 he was making 25+mill per fight.Comment

Fairly sure that check signed by Richard Schaefer to Floyd for 40mil makes you look like you have no idea what you are talking about.there's a guarantee in his contract that says that he will get a certain amount of guaranteed money within a certain amount of time after the fight.
