Because Mayweather pays Golden Boy a fee to co-promote his fights. Keep in mind, he has a lucrative deal directly with Showtime. Not directly with Golden Boy. If Floyd wanted, he could have Top Rank promote his next fight. This is what Miguel Cotto does. Im not sure why everyone is so surprised Floyd is a Golden Boy fighter, even though he runs around claiming to be a free agent and all this crap. The terms for everyone that fought oscar were generally, you are now a goldenboy figther.
