Anybody know the final punch stats to May vs maidana?

I must've missed them, I know May landed 231 and maidana landed 220 my question is in regards to where the punches landed? Anybody? Did they even bring them up?

I wouldn't put to much stock into those.

Mayweather generally gets the benefit of the doubt on a lot of punches he doesn't land.

Punch stats are subjective. Until Compubox has two people going through the footage frame by frame counting punches, punch stats are meaningless.

Compubox should have unofficial stats (right after fight) and official stats (days after fight).

They both use compubox. They just call it different things for their network.

                Totally agree with this ^^

Its unfortunate that so many people see compubox as an impeccable system that cannot make any mistake and count all the punches. First of all it's humans counting what they "think" landed and missed. When you have a flurry I have no idea how they can be sure about what landed or not. Second of all it can be misleading, sometimes a fighter will throw a jab with no intention of landing only to set up another punch (example throwing some jabs beside the head to move the head of your opponent higher and set up a right overhand). In this case you would have one or two missed jab... Another example is Hopkins (when he kod Trinidad) feinting an uppercut, cover up and throw the right hand counter...

Also what I dont like is that these stats dont consider that you can roll the punches, Ali got hit multiple times but he had an incredible talent to roll the punches and decrease the impact. So a punch can "land" but an opponent can roll the punch so well that there is almost no impact. So on championship fight you have guys like Maidana and Floyd that land hundred of punches, but in reality if they landed hundred of punches "flush" on the chin both guys would be dead right now, so these hundred of punches that "landed" dont consider that both Floyd and Maidana did a great job to roll with many of the punches. Btw Maidana impressed me with his defense, it was pretty sound, but I think Floyd is getting slower.

That would be good, some actual decent statistics relating to boxing would be nice to have
