Comments Thread For: J'Leon Love on Taking a Knee, Coming Back Stronger

On Saturday night J'Leon Love defeated Marco Antonio Periban of Mexico, winning an unanimous decision by a comfortable margin. The final tallies read 97-92, 96-93 and 95-93. Love did however have to survive a rough 5th round where he was staggered and badly buzzed. He said that the key was that he recognized he needed a few seconds to regain his composure and that led him to taking a knee.

J did well regaining his composure and taking back control of the bout. Showed me more than I thought he had. Plus he is a real humble kid so I wish him the best.

Agree 100%. I thought he was done but he did the right thing. Took a knee, settled down and then went to work the following rounds. I met him at the MGM the night before the fight, really down to earth. Took time to meet up with some fans. Wish him the best of luck in the future.

I thought it was a good moment for Love and certainly something he can build on, the way he came back the next round was not something many would expected out of him before the fight.

Haha! It was obvious on Marcos face. There was bias there, not even a standing eight when dude was about to fall over. Love will be victim to a devastating KO in the future. Haha.

His forearm to Marcos eye should get credit too!

Yeah I know he is definitely from the Mayweather camp that's there signature move, they almost have as good of an elbow as UFC's Jon Jones, the commission should make them wear elbow pads.
