Some of you got no vision. Just jump on the bandwagon of a truly tested fighters. Any moron can do that. In case you don't realize. There was a time when Mayweather, Pac, Delahoya, Mosely and so on were NOBODIES.
I see a lot of promise in Porter and Thurman. Porter will beat Thurman now but I doubt they will put them together this soon. Too much money to be made with them both as two SUCCESSFUL fighters. In a 2-4 years Thurman will beat Porter. Its all about youth, styles and timing. I'd love to see Porter against Mayweather. You thought Madiana was a bull!

Thurman beats Porter but Porter would give Floyd a harder time.

Porter's a very skilled pressure fighter and he's very good physically and athletically. He would cause Floyd all sorts of problems.

So what fighter's hype do you believe in? Despite relatively thin resumes?

I agree, not sold on him either. He did what he was suppose to and got two solid wins at welterweight, but they weren't anything special. Alexander had already lost to Bradley, Kotelnik and Matthysse. Paulie had already lost a bunch of times. I mean Porter a few years ago just had a draw, which many think he actually lost, against Diaz. He's good and could be improving but he's being overrated when people say he'll beat Mayweather or KO the likes of Maidana, Thurman, ect. It's funny what one win can do to your career, before the Alexander fight he was viewed as a "sparring partner" and an "average fighter," and now he's some type of monster.

I like both fighters. Right now, I have to rate Porter higher. Of course we need to see more from both, and I'm excited for that. They're gonna have to cross paths eventually. It'll be great.

I'm not quite sold either. I think Brook is going to give him a damn good fight.

He was supposed to be a tuneup for Alexander. That wasn't "what he was supposed to do" at all.

That win bumped up his reputation because no one has ever manhandled Alexander that way, or beat him up as badly. It's a pretty good win within the division. He's shown some real potential and still improving.

Stylistically I think he would give Mayweather a hard, hard fight.

porter never really impressed me either until recently. he manages to look bad even while looking good if that makes sense.

at the end of the day he beat two very capable two weight world champions in dominant fashion surprising me in the process both times. he may be one of those guys who always look bad but manage to be oddly effective regardless.

ill say one thing, he is going to be very hard to outbox. with his amateur background and skills of his own he knows how to make great technicians fight a more physical fight than they want to. he is real good at making the stylists uncomfortable by turning things sloppy and then just let his physical strength and pitbull attitude take over.

i think he runs a good chance of getting chinned if he fights a big puncher though. porter isnt a very good pure boxer imo, more of an anti boxer kinda like lamont peterson but with more strength and power but far less pure boxing ability. im not sure his mauling style or brawling ability holds up against the most explosive fighters at 147 either so im not sure how he would come out on top.

im not counting him out no matter who he fights next though, not saying im sold on him entirely but he keeps proving me wrong so i gotta give some credit.
