Maidana and his team didn't negotiate this in the contract. So the only difference is timing. Since other fights, as I listed, had both glove issues and close to fight issues that weren't made into this big a deal, if this wasn't floyd I doubt it would even be discussed.

I think he changed it because he could and he thought it would get in his head, same reason its been done before.

Mayweather and Boner decent fighter's in the ring... Outside the ring they are both lowlife trash. They act like crack house trash and this will never change.

Second, for pac do you have a source the says pac pick the gloves? and if it is the case, there was no date of the fight yet.

Posting facts is not defending floyd. That you would even frame my post that way speaks volumes about you as a boxing fan and as a poster.

If you didn't like the timing, we can agree, even though this is not the 1st or last time an issue will occur this close to a fight.

Just don't act like this is the 1st time you've seen this happen just because its floyd and he ended up winning a close fight.
Dont you think that the timing is not that important? Remember these fighters involve are high level atheletes.

and please, dont compare it to dlh situation. Because as i have said, it was not stipulated in the contract and the agreement was long before the fight.

name me one fighter that chose the gloves for his openent the night before the fight that is not in the contract? ill wait

I think Floyd shouldn't have pulled this glove thing. Totally unnecessary. Just gives people who are aching and starving to hate on him, more fuel to do so. I know he's thinking about his health...

It's a tough one. Those gloves shouldn't be allowed, but because the commission allowed them before (cotto fight), it not's a good look to demand Maidana doesn't wear them...eh, whatever. 46-0.

You can't just discount similiar situations simply because the timing was different. I don't know if there was any other time this happened with the gloves at the same point before the fight. Just because I don't doesn't make your point correct.

I said to twako this was done IMO because he could and to get into Maidana's head. It was nothing more than gamesmanship, which has happened this close to a fight dozens of times.

Did floyd have to do it, of course not. DId it affect the outcome of the fight, I don't think so.

I can understand why Floyd may have had concern with the blue gloves.

But when Floyd demanded that Maidana wear Grants like Floyd, or when Floyd rejected the suggestion from Garcia that they both use the same Everlast MX and it's a level playing field, is when Floyd started to smell a little bit queefy

I was going for Maidana...But honestly its Team Maidana fault for caving into the demands. They took the money instead of standing there ground so its there fault.

Everything was in there favor...contract stated they could wear any gloves of there choice. They could of also got paid without stepping into the ring and Mayweather would be at fault/sued to the max.

Im sure Al Haymon had a lot to do with making Chino switch.

how dense are you? it's floyd who should've negotiated this in the contract. chino was going to wear the standard NSAC approved red gloves after conceding the blue ones and still floyd pu$$ied out.
