Wouldn't hurt at all. Regardless of what happens with Maidana, his legacy as a ducker has already been cemented over the past ten years.

many now question the all time great part. maidana showed how grossly overrated mayweather's skill is. a cherry pick who was a 12-1 underdog, maidana badly exposed mayweather. maidana consistently pressured mayweather to the ropes and had very effective aggression. mayweather threw punches from midrange but once maidana took that away, mayweather could do nothing but cover up. defense alone don't win fights.

i won't be surprised if mayweather ducks a maidana rematch.

Floyd clearly won. There is no need for a rematch. Now Maidana and Broner can rematch.

Floyd fought Castillo again and beat him soundly. If Floyd did the same to Maidana his greatness would not be questioned, but if he doesn't, do you think his legacy takes a hit in any way?
              Weight dragging
              Weight draining
              Weight cheating
              Sucker punching
              Gloves swapping

He already lost the moment he forced Maidana to wear pillow gloves and probably in rematch he will make sure in the contract Maidana wears ballon gloves.

OF course it does, what maidana proved is that in fact Margarito, Paul willams could have beat him if he didnt duck them and cotto fight wasnt a fluke just cotto wasnt prime anymore and thats the only reason mayweather fought him, he ducked him in his prime aswell.

                  ^^ This.

And with sparring gloves which makes it more humiliating. He got outboxed and beat by Maidana, he is probably asking Maidana for the rematch but they are refusing to fight in sparring gloves again. So he's going to have to live with that L.

Depends on who he fights instead.

Are we talking about if he doesn't fight Marcos next or doesn't fight him at all?

Good thing Floyd didn't duck a rematch. This can only make his legacy better.
