Anyone else see some parallels between Mayweather/Maidana and the Lewis/Vitali fight in 2003?
I loved how Maidana, (the underdog) performed against expectation and gave the long standing champion an uncharacteristic fire-fight. And like Lewis, Mayweather managed to win the fight but LOSE the event to his spirited challenger.
It might seem a long shot but I'm wondering if Mayweather might realize his skills are on the slide and so choose to get out -ducking the rematch just like Lewis, who also initially said he'd grant Vitali a rematch, then instead opted to retire (and duck).
Whatever the case, if Floyd fights again, it should prove to be very interesting.
