Major respect for a guy with Augustus' type of record.
The truth is never told about guys like Augustus because nobody cares enough to look past their bad records.
Like Augustus recently came up here to Montreal and beat the **** out of one of the top guys, Herman Ngoudjo, but got screwed again with the decision.
And Pedro Fernandez says on his radio show that the reason Augustus doesn't get anywhere is because he smokes weed. Bull****. More irresponsible comments.
I bet there's plenty of fighters that do worse than weed on their off time, only Augustus has to be ready to fight at a moment's notice so it's no wonder that **** gets caught up in his system.
You won't get anyone giving Augustus eight weeks camp to train for a fight.
As fans, we all have to be a bit more knowledgeable as to what certain fighters have to do to make a living; for a lot of them it's a case of taking a fight at three days' notice or they have a problem eating that month.
Boxing information outlets should take the bulk of the responsibility though. Talk about reality, it doesn't get anymore real than documenting a fighter's dilemma on whether to risk a fight he isn't ready for than chasing up stories about those rich bastards at the top of the food chain squabbling over a million here and a million there.
