Floyd is the 154 quote "champion" unquote. We just live in a time where being the quote "champion" unquote is mostly business terminology and nobody actually expects him to reign over guys like Golovkin.

Maybe Cotto will land a lucky punch on Martinez and Floyd will become the champ at 160. Greatest middleweight in the world!!! Hell with the right business strategy Floyd would win Vitali's old belt. Just gotta convince Cotto to pack on those pounds.
Really....??? Then why doesn't he want to fight Andre Ward???

And I'm a fan of the guy. But matching him with a guy that's highest career weight was 151 is dumb.....flat out dumb.

But I can see Freedom jerking off to the thought of Golovkin beating up on a guy 2 weight classes below him and 20+ lbs lighter than him.

But unlike Floyd, he's willing to move up. He's willing go to 168 and fight Ward or Chavez, then go back down to 160 and fight Martinez.
Floyd's moved up three times and fought the top guys at 154. Oscar was Top 5 at the weight, Cotto was #1 (the division wasn't really decided or strong at this point though), and Canelo was the RING champ.

When has Golovkin moved up to 168 and fought the best there??? Not yet. I do admit he's been ducked by several Middleweights.

Also LOL at Chavez being a top 168 guy yet. He struggled with Brian Vera......Brian Vera. The top guys at 168 would be Andre Ward and the Froch/Groves II winner.

World class reasoning right there. I wont bother to ask why your rep is so shitty here.

If Mayweather ok'd the fight at junior middle and GGG could make the weight it could happen.
Of course if Mayweather wanted to try for the Middleweight Title he could, Sugar Ray fought Jake weighing 153lbs. and beat him!
The boxing challenges have changed dramatically over the years. The challenge today is to earn a lot with as little effort. Years ago to be the best you fought the best in their prime. GGG hits to hard for Floyd to chance that match up, it's not the smart move at all for him.

            Mayweather 5' 7" 146

            GGG 5' 10" 160

There's a big difference in size!!! Especially in power, one has good solid contact the other hits lightly.
            Ray.

              Ray.
Also. One is at his 4th weight class at Welterweight, 5th for his brief fights at JMW. The other has been at Middleweight since he turned pro.

JMW is Floyd's 5th, where skills might or might not pay the bills.

Pac fought there once and never went back, Floyd been there 3 times now so not that silly a question is it?

Not surprised GGG fans are asking for this fight. After all fighting undersized guys is GGGs MO.
