Rigo will find out getting badmouthed while getting paid is a lot better than not being badmouthed while not getting paid.
I'm willing to bet Rigo's last fight with Top Rank will be his only fight for the year. He's going to have a hard time getting anyone to fight him for the type of pay he's now used to with Arum.Last edited by DoktorSleepless; 05-04-2014, 08:00 PM.Comment

Did you even read the article before posting? I'd take you did not. This is not Joan Guzman. This guy is only a prospect. Read first and comment later.Guzman still boxing? I guess this is the equivalent of a suicide hail mary. I know people scared of Rigondeaux the career/life traumatizer but there has to be someone out there man enough to not just talk and actually step up. Well at least the options should widen after this.Comment

I can envision Rigo signing with Mayweather Promotions for this very reason. Imagine if Floyd took Rigo under his wing as his new BFF and they start hitting all the media events together, all the Hollywood parties dressing in complimentary attire and Floyd playing the hype man to his biggest client before all the cameras; Floyd could do faux interpretations/translations as Rigo starts saying some hostile, but humorous stuff in Spanish about whatever and wherever they are lolGuillermo is gonna have to start talking a lot of ***** if he wants to get noticed and become a bigger attraction. Start calling guys out, say outlandish things because if not then there's little Arum will be able to do with him in terms of making him a crossover star.
Too bad he only speaks Spanish but it should still work out
It would generate some much need mainstream buzz . . . kinda like with Puffy first started showing up everywhere with Farnsworth Bently holding an umbrella
With Floyd's Showtime PPV connection, the other fighters at 122 and 126 will be more eager to do business with rigo too, if only as an undercard.Comment

No one wants to face him. He's too good and can't draw flies. There's no money to be made fighting him and he'll probably be handing his opponent a loss.
Eddie Hearn said he would rather have Scott Quigg vacate than fight Rigondeaux.
I do feel for Rigo, he's too good for his own good. Promoters just aren't interested and it's not in any fighters best interests to fight him.Comment
