Definitely. Floyd's reputation as undefeated/unbeatable massively benefits him. Maidana would be clearly winning a round muscling him into the corner and landing 10 times to the body then Mayweather would finally spin out of it and flick Maidana's head back with a jab. With any other opponent that would have been Maidana beating him up and encountering only superficial resistance.

With Mayweather every time he landed a single punch the breath went out of the building and the announcers (and people on this forum) seemed to react like "Oh well, Maidana had a good run, but looks like this one is over."

That's because most of Maidana's shots were smothered, blocked or missed.

Scoring emphasis is on clean punching and Maidana didn't do much of that at all.
