The crude brawler Maidana gave Floyd all that he could handle and more.
For me definitely the better fighter on the night. I just had Maidana winning 7 rounds to 5.
Here are some punch stats.
Maidana landed more power punches in the fight 185 to Floyd's 178 and outlanded Mayweather in 6 out of the 12 rounds.
Maidana also was the ring general for most of the fight, taking the fight to the ropes for large proportions of the fight.
He also was the aggressor, and it was effective aggression.
Maidana certainly had the better of 3 of 4 criterias of how to judge a boxing fight.

I think you can give Floyd the defence part.
Which makes it all the more so troubling that a couple of the judges scored it so wide for Mayweather.
