Does last night confirm Brawling is a dying fighting style?

i just had this thought but if you notice all the brawlers have taken L's recently. There actually isn't any undefeated or top brawler anymore. Defensive oriented fighters are dominating more then ever before.

    Brawlers

    Maidana
    Matysse
    Marquez
    Mares
    Pacquiao
    Chavez jr (lost to vera)
    Canelo
    Angulo
    Martinez (lost to the brit)
    Ruslan
    Alvarado
    Rios
    Cotto
    Salido
    Donaire
    Juanma
    Arce
    Vilora
    Gesta

    Defensive/Skilled

    Ward
    Mayweather
    Hopkins
    Broner
    Love
    Crawford
    Garcia
    Porter
    Alexander
    Russell jr
    Wilder
    Andrade
    Lara
    Rigondeux
    Thurman
    Smith

Yes, lets wait till the Floyd era end. He influences to many boxers of what a true boxing lesson really is.

So you're trying to say that it is a dying style, yet you list just as many name brawlers as boxers?

Just because most of them lose, that doesn't mean it's dying. It just means brawlers don't always win.

I'm just glad we got to witness the transformation of boxing. Kids are going into the gym with their TMT snapback sayin 'I want to learn how to slip, and shoulderoll like Money" they aint sayin " I want to learn how to block punches with my face like Marquez" or " I want to learn how to take a nap on the canvas like Pacquiao"
