Haha. But it worked for Maidana though. He made it much closer than expected.

I agree with your other post in that Cotto could've used that same pressure / aggression that Maidana used. Cotto is more tactical and skilled, and doesn't just throw punches just for the sake of keeping busy. But Maidana was throwing punches even if he was missing a lot, he didn't care.

LOL @ Floyd man. Any time he has a competitive fight he claims he fought that way on purpose to give the fans a good show.

Floyd does not fight a dangerous fighter with a huge punch in a crowd-pleasing way just because he wants to excite the fans. We're talking about Mayweather. He is desperate not to ever lose that '0'. He's not going to go to war with a knockout puncher on purpose.

I am glad some people have been following boxing before the last 3-4 years. Castillo won easily against Floyd and did it without throwing so wild (so he would be accused of throwing rabbit punches) or "out-wrestling" on the ropes. Castillo was busier and definitively more accurate than Floyd that night but the judges got the decision to the loser. However, few months later in a rematch Floyd avenged that loss winning comfortably and incredibly the judges scored the second fight as a closer decision (indicating the first scoring was fixed). And yes, the fight against Judah could easily qualify for DQ.

True. Alvarez used the wrong approach trying to outbox the best boxer. He should have tried what Maidana did last night but Canelo has estamina issues and it would be hard for him to keep a relentless attack withoug gassing quickly.

Roid Mayweather is leaving out the important part though. He beat Cotto and Canelo, but got his taint kicked by Maidana. Retire now Roid at 44-2-1

MAIDANA WHUPPED YOUR ASS FRAUD!!!!! he looked defeated so did his entourage when they exited the ring plus he was all busted up , unlike Maidana whom was fresh as a flower,

showtime is protecting that 6 fight deal they even lied about the cut which was clearly caused by a punch and not a headbutt the replay showed this clearly, they want to make mayweather out to something he just isnt ,he lost last night and he damned well knows he did.Boy got an ASS WHUPPIN!

                  That's what happens from 147-154.

                    ^^^^^What he said.

First off, kudos to Marcos for making this such a fun fight...but is Marcos really better than all of Floyds opponents, NO!

You have to have a niche is you have any hope to win, trying to outbox or out finesse the best/craftiest boxer on the planet is flat out horrible game planing...kudos to Robert he wanted it to be a rough tumble affair. He almost pulled off the unimaginable with somewhat of a lessor fighter (no offense, but seeing how Chino struggled with movement against Devon and Khan to an extent).

I also liked how every other fighter said they would figure out the blueprint to beating Floyd.....rather you agree with who won or lost....I think it should have been clear that Juan Luis Castillo showed the blueprint...it was just swept under the rug because technically he didn't get the win.

Cotto had success for about the middle 3rd of the fight when he made it rough and dare I say Ortiz got frustrated and dirty in the final round and it was his best round of the fight....well, until the ko....lol

I think fighters have taken notice and Floyd will go out with some very difficult fights....the respect element will be gone, it's has to be for fighters to have a chance against him.

People forget, Cotto made Floyd legitimately think about retirement. Now THAT'S someone putting you through the ringer. Floyd is more than happy to fight again in September against Maidana.
