Are you serious? That's exactly what they should NOT do. They already got screwed financially; giving in to Mayweather's control-freakery and ego on gloves renders the contest a complete and utter non-event. Submit to this point and you've lost before you even step in the ring.

Yes, Chino has very remote (to no) chance of winning anyway, but there's a wider point to be made here. This is bullying and control-freakery gone mad. One fighter cannot have everything made to his perfection. This isn't the Big Boy Mansion, this is a boxing ring. Can we at least pretend to maintain an essence of fairness?

I know any publicity is good publicity, but this can't make Floyd look good to potential PPV buyers. Everyone was expecting a UD blowout anyway and now Floyd is threatening to cancel hours before the fight because of his opponent's gloves??

Yup the same way pac said he lost the first morales fight becuz he used the winning glove, but anyway i can understand why floyd balked at the first pair, the glove was flimsy and just didnt look right and it was becuz, from my understanding plain horsehair with no padding..now the red pair that the commisiin ultimately approved at a mix of both padding and horsehair, no different from cleto reyes gloves.

Now if in the contract there was no stipulation on what exact gloves to wear, i think they should allow maidana to wear the red gloves...if not there could be legal ramifications against tmt..as for the protex gloves, that glove is strictly padding no horse hair, but is not considered a punchers glove,it is actually very similar to grant gloves....this is truly bizarre though, i dont know what to make of this.

Regardless of what happened with this glove issue, i would say approve the red everlast mx glove. It wont matter anyway cuz floyd gonna whoop his ass!

This is on Floyd. Floyd needs to stop acting like a child and let Maidana wear the NSAC-approved MX gloves he's used to. If he's going to school Maidana anyway, at least let the man wear his gloves.

He has lost before he stepped in the ring now. Him and his trainer don't even know what gloves they are using and aren't making final preparations for the fight.
