Comments Thread For: Maidana Credits Ariza as Reason For Better Shape

LAS VEGAS --- Marcos Maidana appears to be physically in the best shape of his career heading into his showdown against Floyd Mayweather on Saturday night at the MGM Grand on Showtime PPV.

Maidana said a big reason for that was the addition of strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza to his camp.

"It's very, very important to have someone like Alex," Maidana said. "His work is very intensive. He's very professional. It's always great to have someone like him in your corner."

Alex Ariza is so professional he'll even sucker kick a old guy with parkinsons in the chest for the cause.

Since Maidana's move to WW, and since entering Garcia's camp, his torso and neck have actually gained a fair bit of muscle mass. At JW Maidana looked like skin over bones, and for Devon he just looked soft. The fact that Maidana has some toned mass around his torso and neck is probably why he seems more KD resistant these days.

He didn't look good as he normally does

Also not sure why Garcia has taken on Ariza after what Roach said about those shakes.

Also Rios failed a drug test

I can't understand why boxing commissions would allow fighters to hire people with their histories. What makes it worse is when the people who question their fighters become the enemies. Manny fans hate Floyd for raising su****ions, then Roach says Ariza is suspect. Marquez fans get mad at Manny fans for raising su****ions, etc. If you don't want questions arising, don't **** with these strength coaches.
