Comments Thread For: Amir Khan: No Distractions with Virgil Hunter

Amir Khan has traded the comfort of his British homeland and glamour of his previous Hollywood camp for the serenity of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Over the past 16 months, the former junior welterweight titleholder has toiled in tranquility in Hayward, Calif., with trainer Virgil Hunter, who said it would take “at least three fights and three training camps” before his new charge would begin to evolve style-wise.

Will Amir Khan fall to the Virgil Hunter curse? Dallas, Angulo, Mayfield, Mendez, Berto...

    We shall see.

He has the most support in MGM dope. Khan gets more love in US than in the UK among boxing fans.

It is not a curse, Hunter is just a bad trainer, who lucked out when Andre Ward walked into his gym one day.

This is the fight I'm most looking forward to. I'm curious how Khan will look, he looks like he's in tremendous shape.

Should be a good one pick'em fight.

Same can be said about many top trainers. Apart from ward his stable is full of opponents/gatekeepers. Guys not meant to win their fights. With the exception of ward and maybe khan.

Unless he has subconsciously changed his programming he is going to be the same old Khan as soon as something hits him on that chin.

He will get knocked out again. Then changes trainer and say that Virgils training was never right for his style lol. Then goes back to Freddie Roach
