Chavez was landing crunching right hands and bodyshots throughout the whole bout. The HBO crew was not doing a very good job of depicting the good work being done by Chavez.

Mel may have been outlanding Julio 2 to 1, but Julio's 1 was far more damaging.

You gotta watch the fight, Legendary nights and the commentators that night were very very biased. And who can really blame them.. its probably the most nationalistic matchup ever created.

But here is something that might give u an idea as of the punishment Taylor was taking.

In the 2nd Round Chavez lands a hard left that opens the first of what would be many cuts inside taylors mouth, the round ends with chavez landing repeated left hooks and right hands Taylor hurt.

By the 10th round or so, Taylor's corner manages to stop the blood from taylor every rest period, however chavez keeps opening them up every round. In this one especially, Taylor's streams lots of blood from his mouth, and you can see it run down chavez's arms as he punishes taylor some more.

Basically the biggest BS comments of legendary nights are,

"Chavez started punishing taylor from the mid rounds up" Chavez was landing hard shots from round 1!!! And round 2 could have gone to Chavez.

"Taylor's speed nullified chavez's offense" Leonard.. CHavez was landing every round, most of which kept landing flush. Taylor was throwin his famous quick left hooks but he would drop his right hand, and chavez kept popping taylor with left hooks to the face.

Believe it or not this fight was competitive from start till end. Chavez throwing at a 140lb fighter normal rate.. Hard punches. And taylor was throwing 4 times that landing 2-1 of what chavez was. But Chavez kept switching his hands to block the punches and very few landed cleanly.

I watched that fight live with E. Smith from Navy and he could not believe the cheerleading for Meldrick. HBO had SRL-itis. Chavez' shots were accented by ominous thuds while Taylor's were slippity-slapping. Watch the fight with the sound turned down and you see a methodical beating put on Taylor.

Taylor fought a great fight and was winning on the cards for sure, but Chavez gave him a 12 round beating that basically ended Taylor's competitive career. he was never the same. The body shots, the constant pressure. One of the most emotional fights I've ever seen. With the nationality thing going, boxer vs puncher...it had everything

great stuff, if you haven't seen the entire fight, make it a priority.

Make Sure U Watch The Fight On Mute Also.tell Me If U Gave Taylor Every Single Round Also. Watch For Chavez Blocking And Ducking Most Punches. I Saw Maybe 5 Punches That Chavez Actually Felt. Taylors Corner Knew The Fight Was Very Close, That Is Why They Sent Him Out To Win The 12th. Poor Taylor.... Sadest Story In Boxing. Hbo Commentaters Suck Ass Anyways.
